I have never transported a car, how does this process work from start to finish?
Once you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation through your email. As soon as we assign a truck to your vehicle, we will be in contact with you over the phone to provide you with your pick up and delivery dates along with the driver’s cell phone number. At this point, we will need to charge an amount of $90 to $140 on a credit card to book your vehicle on the carrier. The remaining amount is due upon pick up or delivery to the driver in the payment form of cash, cashiers check, or money order. The driver will contact the customers at pick up and delivery before arriving, to make arrangements. When the driver arrives at pick up, he will do a detailed inspection (bill of lading) of your vehicle which you will sign and receive a copy of. The same bill of lading will be present on delivery so you and the driver can re-inspect the vehicle. Note any damages on the bill of lading if they happen to occur. Make sure the driver signs the bill of lading because claims cannot be processed by the driver's insurance company if damage is not noted at time of delivery.
How do I Pay?
When you are filling out the order form you will be asked for credit card information. We will not charge anything to your card until we have assigned your vehicle to a truck and given you the pick up and delivery dates. We accept VISA, Master Card, American Express, Discover and check by phone for your deposit. The remaining balance must be paid with cash, cashiers check, or a postal money order payable to the driver (the driver will give you a receipt).
How do I prep my vehicle for transport?
We recommend that your vehicle is washed before transport. Having a clean vehicle makes it easier for the driver to properly fill out the bill of lading (inspection report). Please do not leave more than ¼ tank of gas in the vehicle.
Can personal belongings be put inside the vehicle?
100 pounds of personal belongings is allowed in the trunk of your vehicle. Keep in mind that any personal items you put in your vehicle are not covered by insurance. Under NO circumstances can the car contain firearms, hazardous materials, illegal substances, or contraband.
Do I need to purchase insurance?
No. Insurance is already provided by the carrier's primary insurance and your vehicle is covered up to $250,000(open carrier) and $500,000(enclosed carrier) with no deductible to you.
What is door-to-door service?
Door-to-door service means your vehicle is picked up and delivered from and to the addresses provided to us on the order form. However, many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from driving into some residential areas. If for some reason the carrier/trucking company cannot access the address, you will be asked for an alternate location accessible for a truck, such as a large parking lot.
How long does it take for a pick up?
90% of the time your vehicle is scheduled for pick up within the first two days of your desired pick up date. Although, it is always good to give your self at least a 5 day window for pick up, especially for larger and in-operable vehicles.
Are there any cancellation fees?
Absolutely not! You may cancel your order before it is scheduled at any time, no questions asked!
